Former president Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has expressed his condolences over the sudden demise of foremost journalist-cum-writer Ken {Kenule} Saro-Wiwa Jr. who died on Tuesday, 18th October 2016. Ken Jr. was a senior aide to Jonathan. In a message via his verified Facebook page, Goodluck Jonathan said, “A bright star has been prematurely plucked from the Nigerian firmament. Ken Wiwa, like his father, Ken Saro Wiwa, was a patriot. My prayers are with the family he left behind. Adieu great son of Nigeria.” Ken Saro-Wiwa Jr. died at the age of 47 in a London hospital after suffering stroke and battling a lung-related disease. His father, Ken Saro-Wiwa, a celebrated playwright, was hanged alongside eight Ogoni activists on November 10, 1995, after a flawed murder trial.
