Following a meeting with governors elected under the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has said the agenda had nothing to do with the health status of President Muhammadu Buhari. Odigie-Oyegun dismissed the media reports that suggested that the meeting was to discuss the issue of President Muhammadu Buhari, saying “our meeting has absolutely nothing to do with the health status of the President.
He further said, “What makes me happy in spite of these negative speculations and attempt to destabilize the polity is that, his respect for due process and the constituent of this nation has left a structure that is functioning very effectively in spite of his unfortunate absence.
“One can say quite clearly that the wish of Mr President is that the government will continue to function efficiently and effectively and that the party also should continue and proceed to execute its normal duties and functions.” The meeting was attended by 12 governors, including those of States like Bauchi, Ondo, Zamfara, Nasarawa, Jigawa, Kwara, Plateau, Kogi, Kano, Edo, Sokoto and Imo as well as the three deputy governors of Lagos, Oyo and Niger States.
