The senator representing Ondo South senatorial district, Chief Tayo Alasoadura, has called on the leader of the party Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to rally round Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) who is the gubernatorial candidate for All Progressives Congress(APC) in the 26 November 2016 election. This is as one of the aspirants Chief Olusola Oke decamped to Alliance for Democracy (AD). Alasoadura, who had once been quoted to have said “Abolowo Tinubu” (We are free from Tinubu) shortly Akeredolu was declared winner, said Tinubu remains the party leader. Alasoadura spoke at a press conference which held on Monday at the press centre in Adegbemile in Akure. According to him, “Reflecting deeply on recent happenings within our party, we will see glaringly the extent to which we have embarrassed ourselves and equally brought our national leaders into ridicule as a result of our action and utterances in pursuance of personal ambitions.
“I strongly believe that there has not been a better time for the APC in Ondo state to harness its political strength, shift grounds to accommodate the differences of others for the purpose of giving to the people a good government they can trust. Now is the time to sink our differences and move forward as a united family to win in the November governorship election for our party by supporting the candidature of Barrister Oluwarotimi Akeredolu by all true democrats. Though some party members might have been aggrieved by the process that led to the emergence of Akeredolu, we don’t have more time for internal wrangling.”
